Special

They are always in our thoughts,
They are always in our dreams,
They are always with us,
In our time of need.
These people who are with us,
All the time through and through,
Those special people of the world,
Help make our dream come true.
People with disabilities,
They are never wrong
To believe in themselves
And know that they belong.

August 13: Describe in detail the best day/moment of the summer. What was happenig? What did it smell like? Feel like? What did you taste? Don't just tell your reader. Let them experience it along with you.
August 6: Write about your perfect summer day. What would you do? Where would you be? who would you be with? How would it end?
July 16: This week your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to use the phrase: "That's when the Purple Monkies stole my notebook " In a piece of flash fiction or poetry.
This week we're making metaphors. Look around your room quickly. What is the first item you notice? Look at it closely. Pick it up, if you can. Describe it simply (what is it? how big is it? what color is it?). Pick out one aspect of this item(Color, texture, weight.). Describe it simply. Now describe that aspect in terms of something else (an animal, a place, a person). Now describe that aspect in terms of another sense. (if it is a color describe it in terms or taste or smell. If it is a texture describe it in terms of color or a food.) For example "it felt beige, like the sands at Indiana Dunes."
July 2: Describe your favorite toy from childhood. What did it look like then? What does it look like now? How does/did it smell? Feel? Taste? Write a poem or short story and make this item play a significant role.
